BBMP Chief Commissioner Shri Gaurav Gupta said that the free food packets being distributed at Indira Canteens in Bengaluru from 12 May, Wednesday, do not require identification proof from the beneficiaries.
Earlier, the BBMP order stated that the poor, migrant workers and labourers have to provide identification proof to the suppliers in order to obtain the food packets distributed free of cost till the end of lockdown (24 May 2021).
Noticing the trouble faced by the beneficiaries in obtaining the food packets, the BBMP Chief Commissioner has issued a clarification that identification proofs are not mandatory. The beneficiaries can obtain the food packets without any identification proof till 24 May, the end of lockdown in the city.
